switching data from old computer to new

I had a windows 7 hp pc that died. I have a mirror backup using Shadowprotect software. I now have a Dell Inspiron 5558 notebook with windows 10.

Would I first create a rescue disk with the new notebook? Then would I do a restore of the windows 7 and data to the new notebook? Then would I use the rescue disk to refresh windows 10 and keep the data?
