Studio 1558 upgrade to Windows 10

I updated my Studio 1558 from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. After encountering one problem that I was able to solve, the system appears to run Windows 10 just fine. I am writing this post to share what that problem was and the solution I used. The problem was with the internal camera supplied to Dell by Creative Labs. When I went to use video on Skype, the system crashed with a "IRQL not less or equal error- CtClsFlt.sys" . That's when I discovered that Dell does not support this model for upgrading to Windows 10. That's not what I expected from Dell. Anyway, I found the solution from an older post on the Dell forum site related to a slightly different model. It turns out the solution to the problem was to remove the Dell application software that supports the internal camera. I think it is called something like Dell Cam Central (not sure of the exact name but it was something like that). Simply use "programs and features" from the control panel to remove that software and after doing that the camera now works with Skype or other apps and does not crash the Studio 1558. As I said previously, other than that, it appears my Studio 1558 runs Windows 10 just fine. Good luck.
