I've just purchased a 2nd-user Optiplex 745 USFF - from a computer reconditioning company. It came with Win10 installed - not a bad little machine - except for the noise from the fans / disk drive.
The fans (2 x case and 1 x disk) I've lubricated, which helped a little with the noise. I _think_ I've set Win10 to 'sleep' the pc after 15 minutes - it goes to sleep (screensaver come up) - and you can hear the disk drive and fans slow for a second or so, but then there's a 'clunk' and they come back on again at full (noisy) speed.
Running "Fanspeed" shows a core temp of 46c, but doesn't show any fan speed data ...
Any suggestions?
