I tried to update this driver (Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus) on my computer, but I receive an error every time. It has a yellow exclamation mark by it. The reason I want this to function is so I can have sound come out of my TV when I plug in my HDMI. When I try to update it  I get a Intel(R) Display Audio Data Error. I have windows 10 and a Dell Inspiron 15-3521. It shows under "other devices" in my device manager, but should be under "sound, video, and game controllers."

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

How can I fix this error?

I'm having a lot of trouble using my laptop since win 10 upgrade.

1.The drivers are really very old(seems like win 8.1 drivers have been used) especially the BIOS driver which dates back to 2014.

2.The boot time has increased alot from 15 seconds to approx 70+ seconds. Also the Dell logo shows twice(once the regular one and one more in which the rotating dots are very slow).

I've contacted Microsoft support for the same. After diagnosis they said it was a driver issue.  Also I've contacted the DELL support as well but I got the answer as "Sorry sir, your warranty period is over and hence we cannot resolve this issue."

I would appreciate the driver updates from DELL software community. And also to keep providing updates for the laptops series which have closed.(This is a common problem with DELL , stopping software updates for old laptop series).
Any help regarding the above issue are welcome . Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I am using Dell Inspiron 3558 and have recently upgraded my system from Windows 7 to Windows 10. After upgrading, I am no longer able to start the MS Outlook. I stuck every time with error “Cannot start the Microsoft Outlook….”.

 

However, I have tried ScanPST.exe but didn't get any satisfactory response.

Please help!

I have a Dell Dimension 4700 with an added Sapphire Radeon 6450 video card that is successfully running Windows 7, SP1, Home Premium, 32-bit.  Do I dare try to uprade to Windows 10?

I also have a laptop, Dell Inspiron 14R, with 64-bit Windows 7, Home Premium (much newer that the desktop).  Same question - can I upgrade to Windows 10?

updated from win 7 to 10 all seems o.k except when i go to device manager i see this unknown device 

ACPI\SMO8800\1 its the ST Microelectronics DE351DL Free Fall Motion Sensor Driver apparently its not compataible with win 10 any idea as to if i can download a compatible version and what is importance of this driver\download finally what does  it do exactly

I recently upgraded to Win 10 on a Dell 660s that is rarely used.  After the installation and while learning the new system I realized that "backup and recovery" is nowhere to be found. Doing some research I found that this program was to be updated prior to the installation. (I don't recall getting any nags to do this)

"CAUTION: Before upgrading your system to Windows 10 you must have the latest updates to Dell Backup and Recovery 1.8 installed to ensure that the software will work after the upgrade. For more information please see the following article Dell Backup and Recovery (DBAR) and Windows 10"

Reading the above- it  looks like it may to late without reverting back to win 8.1 - any work arounds for this.

Severe display problems with N7110 after Windows 10 "upgrade".  Screen goes grey, stripy, or dark; some of it might still be readable sometime -- but usually not.  Problem is random and persistent.

i recently bought dell inspiron 2 in 1 with windows 10 on it.  at the top of the screen there is a bar that has internet explorer symbol on left  with 'search the web' box for entering what you want to serch.  on the right hand side of the bar are three icons for facebook, music, and to play videos.  there is no 'x' to close this and i can find no way to remove it.  i have ni idea why it is there and i dont want it.  how can i remove it?

I have a basically brand new Latitude E6440 that I recently applied the W10 upgrade to, which disables the ability to login to windows via the fingerprint reader and contactless smartcard using Dells Security Tools. I understand the login authentication is now handled by "Windows Hello".

After setting a PIN in Sign-in options and enrolling fingerprints in "Windows Hello", I am still unable to login using the fingerprint reader - no option for this appears at the login screen despite "Windows Hello" apparently being correctly setup.  I have updated all of the drivers & Dell Security tools. Dell has advised me that they will not assist with this without additional payment.  Has anyone encountered this issue, and does anyone know if the ability to login with a smartcard will be restored under Windows 10?

Hello!

I have a Dell Inspiron N7110/17R and was wondering if it'd be compatible with Windows 10 64-bit since I'm currently running 32 bit. I have over 4 GB installed. 

Also, how do I enable NX/XD in my BIOS? The bios is called Phoenix.

The Dell Latitude e5420 is an excellent built and packs all the feature which includes fingerprint reader. Unfortunately after updating to windows 10 the dell authentication is no longer compatible. I know a lot of people want the best of software and hardware. The dell latitude does provide that with the hardware but needs a software update for the fingerprint reader. I strongly urge for dell to push out an update for the dell laptop.

hi, I am absolutely upset by this. I just received my brand new lap top from Dell this morning and when I go to Cortana she ask you to sign into your Microsoft account so she can do more (like voicing etc) unfortunately when i click sign in I get a square black empty box just sits there. 

I have called dell was told I have to pay $129.00 for them to help me one time only or pay another $200.00 for software warranty.

It's suppose to be included in windows 10 and have had it maybe 3 hours at this point have had it since 9:00 a.m. this morning Haven't done anything just letting it set up.

I'm on my Dell all in one desk top and I bought it also brand new  about little over a year and Cortana works perfectly on it. it was windows 8.1 and i got the free windows 10 download for it.

So if anyone out there can help me as I'm ready to call them tell them send me a return label and skip a lap top all together. I had both miss my lap top this one was on sale got it for $242.00

Also tried Microsoft support tech but nope they say Dell should go good for it.and Dell said the software isn't put in by them not warranted only the hardware.

I have a XPS 8900, running Windows 10. My only means of internet access is a USB modem(AT&T Beam/AC340u). AT&T has an app called All-Access, through which the modem connects to the internet. My problem is that the All-Access app doesn't see the modem, even though it is plugged in. On an older computer, running Vista, the app and modem work perfectly. I've been on the phone talking with AT&T, from which the modem and All-Acces came, for the last three days, to no avail. They insist it's a Dell problem or there's a compatibility issue with Windows 10. Netgear, which makes the modem, says there is no issue regarding the modem and Windows 10. If someone could offer some advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Roy

came in a while ago, plugged in laptop and noticed the battery was charging. shouldve been full. then laptop didnt want to turn on. took out battery, and put back in, then it turned on, notice that it was hot on bottom. and for some of you, you already know its that dang intel management engine. my battery had ran down about 60% in 2 hours when it was suppose to be turned off. so, diabled that driver. just warning u all.

I put windows 10 on my computer and cant get past blue screen so I wanna boot in safe mode and go back to windows 7 and cant figure out how to do it. Help
