Hi,
Have an M6800 laptop which I have just recently recovered to the factory state of Win8 pro. I was going to upgrade this to Win10 but I have decided to buy a new 256GB SSD and install Win10 onto that instead.
So, what's the best way to do this? This is what I imagined to be the correct procedure but please let me know if there are issues with this.
First and foremost I have no product key as my Win8 is OEM, already had issues and good discussion on this in a another thread.
- Upgrade BIOS
- Install Win 10 to new SSD
- Set this as the new primary boot partition
- Format the existing HD as a data drive
Is this likely to work or will I have an issue with the lack of product key?
Or Should I just reinstall Win8 to the SSD, upgrade it and then switch the primary partition.
Thanks in advance.
