Since "upgrading" (I use the term EXTREMELY loosely) to Windows 10, not only won't my laptop shut off completely without my having to hold the SHIFT key from the time I click on shut down until the laptop fully powers down, but I am unable to complete a system backup despite getting reminded repeatedly to do one. I try to back up onto a 1tb portable HD (my entire laptop has 600GB stored on it) and it goes through a process for more than 12 hours or more before freezing and I never get beyond 57% complete. It is the slowest backup I have EVER experienced...including from the days of DOS 3.1 and Windows 3.x and everything in between. I don't know how this gets to be considered an upgrade, but since XP, Windows seems to be exceptionally problematic!
All I want to do is protect my data with a full system backup...it shouldn't take 12 hours to move 600GB of data....actually it barely moves 350 of that 600 before crashing.
Anyone have any ideas???
