N5110 w/ Win 10 Hard drive at 100%. SO SLOW

I upgraded to Windows 10 on my A11 BIOS N5110 at the beginning of August and it ran great until about a week ago when it started running super slow. I noticed the HDD activity light was solid on, no flashes, after booting up. Looking at task manager, the hard disc is showing 100% utilization and the only way to get around this is to go into msconfig and disable basically everything and restart!.

I can't revert back to Windows 7 since it has been over 30 days. (BEWARE,only a 30 day window is given apparently after upgrading). I did not create a back-up disc during upgrade either : (

How slow is my laptop running now? I am attempting to back up my files in case the drive dies completely and so I have used a SATA cable and hooked up another hard drive to copy files. It took 28 hours to back up 50Gb worth of files!!!! That's how slow it is running!

I just want Windows 7 back now. 10 was OK, learning where and how everything worked kind of sucked though, and I had trouble getting my phone tethering software (PdaNet / FoxFi) to work.

Anyone having the same issue or have any information on what I can try next with Windows 10?

My Windows 7 came loaded on laptop and I don't even have the key info anymore. All the labels and stickers were lost when Dell replaced the case about 1.5 years ago. Will customer support be able to give me my key information?

Any help appreciated>
