Inspiron 15R N5110 (Early 2011), bios not supported #3

I would have replied/added a comment to the existing thread on this topic, but I am new to the forum and haven't a clue how to do it as there is no 'reply' or 'comment' button to click on.  So my first question is how do you join a discussion?

I am also totally confused with the windows 10 situation.  Originally I received the message that the bios was not supported - reading the thread appeared to confirm that Dell couldn't care less about Inspiron 15R customers and that any attempted update was entirely at their own risk.  Not wishing to end up with a totally inoperative laptop, I decided to stay with Windows 7.  I have now received a message from Microsoft saying that Windows 10 has been downloaded and I am good to go!  Just click on 'continue'.  What do I do?  Am I really 'good to go' or will this just corrupt everything?  Urgent help/advice needed!!
