Inspiron 3442 stuck at blue screen with black lines after dell recovery

Inspiron 3442 with preinstalled Win 10.
Had lagging problems for some time and almost 100% disk usage problem. Recently windows defender has detected a threat and asked to clean it up and reboot. After reboot, the system went into Dell recovery mode. After completing the recovery process, the laptop got stuck in a blue screen with black lines after reboot and continues to revert to this after each reboot. The OS can't be accessed.

After reading the Video forum I have found topics with similar issues, suggesting that this may be a malfunctioning BitLocker recovery screen. The solutions offered there is to enter the unlock key blindly, however, I never set up the system to use BitLocker and haven't set up any recovery keys in the first place. 

I also can't use the Microsoft account BitLocker recovery key website because the windows came preinstalled with dell and so is not listed under my personal account.       

Any help would be really appreciated, getting desperate here!
