So I just installed a windows update after my computer had been bugging me about it for about a month, and now whenever I let my laptop fall asleep (either by closing it or just leaving it sitting for too long), upon awakening the screen turns into a garbled mess of squiggly lines with the brightness flashing.
I tried manually installing the video drivers again - first from Intel, then from Dell when intel told me to check the manufacturer instead, but neither install has fixed my problem.
I cannot use the rollback installs feature because I'm an idiot and let AVG wipe those when I was getting overzealous in trying to perform computer maintenance in the hopes that would somehow fix my problem.
I am willing to do a complete windows reinstall if that's what it will take to solve this issue, but I would obviously perfer a less drastic solution.
This is not a picture of my computer, but one I found while looking for other people with my problem (their issue is what brought me to drivers being an issue in the first place). My screen looks basically the same though.
