I managed to corrupt my Windows 10 system disk on my Dell Inspiron desktop. I need some files from it so I yanked the disk and bought another disk to recover the OS. I created the Dell Recovery USB stick, and tried to use it to restore Windows 10, but the operation failed. I think it is because my new disk does not have the recovery partition (which also was corrupted). I then contacted Dell but my system is out of warranty so they were not helpful. I think at this point I need to just buy a new Windows license and get an installation DVD. Has anyone gone through that? Can all Dell specific drivers be recovered from the support site? Is there any chance of getting my Windows 10 activation code from Dell so I can just download Windows 10 ISO image from Microsoft?
