Hi,
I have 2 XPS18's one at work, one in home office. Both are barely 2 years old.
Both have Windows 10, which has been a supported operating system on these products since it came out.
Windows 10 Anniversary update will not install, and simply hangs at around the 75% point on both machines. I notice that the web site has recently been updated to say that XPS 18 is not tested for Windows 10 any more.
I cannot use either machine as I cannot even defer the updates - both have a Microsoft Exchange account which is administered by my company so I cannot change the update rules.
So........I have 2 machines, each costing the best part of £1000, each no more than 2 years old which are pretty useless.
Microsoft are not interested, and anyway they say it is your problem as it is almost certainly a driver related problem, but in any case since Windows 10 is working in most cases they seem happy that a small sub section of us (probably several million people across all of the various hardware platforms) are stuffed.
What do you suggest? Do I simply throw them in the bin? And hopefully the suggestion is not 'try to roll back to Windows 8 with a factory reset' - uninstalling the last 2 years of my life plus repurchasing software and finding Windows 8 compatible replacements for everything is not the way I would like to spend the next 48 hours of my life.
I look forward to your reply.
Best Regards
Kevin
