Hi
I got a bigger m.2 ssd for my 3050 pc and instead of duplicating old ssd into new one I decided to reinstall windows from downloaded recovery iso image. No matter what I do I couldn't get pc to boot up. It would go through the process, but eventually wouldn't boot up. Tried it in legacy and UEFI mode. Original ssd size is 32gb with about 12gb free with windows installed. SO I assume the windows 10 from Dell is shrunken somehow.
I was finally able to install it from downloaded full version of windows 10 iso from microsoft by changing bios to ATA and legacy setting. Then after 1st boot change the registry entry to achi, boot into safe mode to reinstall achi driver. At least now I have it in achi mode.
Q1. What is the ROW mean in W10x64ROW_core_compact.iso recovery file that I can download from Dell?
Q2. What would be missing in compact version from Dell in comparison to MS downloaded iso file?
Q3. What am I doing wrong?
I would prefer to install dell original recovery image so I would have it in GPT UEFI. Just FYI ssd capacity is different.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
