Dell System Detect and Windows 10 - Download failure

Since I originally installed Windows 10 Professional on my XPS 8700 in July 2015 Dell System Detect has been failing to run properly.  Although it downloads to my PC and all indications are that the software is running just fine on my PC, attempting to detect my system on the Dell support website invariably returns the message “Running Dell System Detect,  Download failure.  An error occurred while downloading Dell System Detect. Cancel or Retry.”

Now, Dell System Detect always ran fine on my PC under Win 7 Ultimate and Win 8.1 Professional x64 versions.  It is only since installing Windows 10 Professional that I have encountered this error.  Following the Windows 10 Anniversary fiasco I was encountering so many problems that I attempted to use Dell Support.  Once again attempting to detect my system resulted in the message “Running Dell System Detect,  Download failure.  An error occurred while downloading Dell System Detect. Cancel or Retry.”

With sheer multitude of problems I was experiencing from the Anniversary update, I finally resorted to a clean install of Win 10 Pro, which fortunately resolved all of the problems I had been encountering.  Out of curiosity, I downloaded and installed Dell System Detect Ver 7.9.0.10; once again it appeared to download and run without problems.  And once again, as soon as it finished installing the Dell website reported  “Download failure. An error occurred while downloading Dell System Detect. Cancel or Retry.”

So, am I the only person having issues with DSD under Windows 10?
