Dell Desktops, Microsoft Windows OS product keys and Windows 10 Home

I own a Dell XPS 8900 desktop computer purchased in late 2015. It came pre-installed with Windows 10 Home. Just this past week, using a legitimate  product key, I upgraded the OS to Windows 10 Pro.

However, I later realized (by way of some quick internet research) that whatever product key was used to activate the Windows 10 Home system that came with the host was actually injected into the motherboard. I did not obtain this information before upgrading to Windows 10 Pro.

My question is this...If for some reason I wanted to go back to Windows 10 Home (by re-installing it from scratch or using some kind of downgrading process), would I need to know what that original product key was or would my instance of Windows 10 be automatically activated due to the built in key in the motherboard?

Note: I tried to use a special utility to extract this key but I wasn't successful.
