I am getting an UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION from my Dell laptop after upgrading to Windows 10. I have tried almost every problem solving technique that I can find with no luck.
The machine is a Dell Inspiron 15R 5537 laptop originally with Windows 8 and later upgraded to Windows 8.1 without problems. This error only happens when running Windows 10. I've tried a factory reset back to Windows 8 and then an upgrade to Windows 10 and I've tried a clean install of Windows 10. It makes no difference. I check Windows Update daily, I check Dell driver updates almost every day. I've updated the BIOS. I've ran various Dell diagnostics with no errors. I've gone into "clean boot" in Windows and nothing has stopped the issue. I've sent Dell screenshots from BlueScreenViewer over twitter support and they didn't find anything in the errors. The only thing changed on the machine is the hard drive, after a failure of the original one right after the original warranty ended.
I run the same Windows 10 install on another machine (a non-Dell PC) with the same software running and don't have any problems. I keep getting told to do the same steps (factory reset and try it before upgrading, or run windows update or uninstall the anti virus software) which haven't worked.
Dell swears that the system will work with Windows 10 based on their testing. This is my last resort before I go buy a new laptop and end my relationship with Dell.
Is there anything else I can try? I'm not willing to go back to Windows 8.1 and I'm certainly not willing to keep working like this.
