Need help finding upload for Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013.

When I updated to Windows 10, some programs were missing.  When I purchased this Dell laptop, I paid for Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013.  Of course, this was missing and I can not find a download for this.  I have the key, program is backed up onto a scan disk, but can not reinstall it. The only thing I need is Word.  Is there a way I can download from Dell?

Hi,

I have a Alienware Area 51 desktop computer. It was originally on windows 10 but yesterday I decided to attempt to update it to windows 10. It has successfully installed it, but when I try to log onto the computer I give my password and it freezes I have done this several times and I am unsure what to do next. It has a USB netgear wifi adapter which I tried unplugging and re-plugging it back into different USB ports which still didn't work. I would like some advice on what to try next.

Microsoft Edge won't work

I bought a Dell XPS 12 2-in-1 laptop. I can't get Microsoft Edge to work. When I click on the 'e' icon on the desktop, it takes me to a blue screen with the 'e' icon in the middle. At the top it says Microsoft Edge, but there is no address field. No other symbols to click on either. I can't get to any web site.

I am connected to the net, since I can get Win 10 updates and on the start screen the news app will take me to the news.

I read the Get Started tutorial, and Dell Support info on the laptop, but it doesn't address my problem.

Any ideas?

Black Backlight Screen After Windows 10 Upgrade

I have a problem is which very similar to what I’m finding on the internet except, mine is a tad bit different. I have a Dell Vostro 3550 laptop. The hard drive died and it was reloaded with Windows 7 Home Pre 64-Bit.  It has an Intel i5Core processor with 8GB PC3 memory. The Install and everything was fine for 2 days.  On the 3rd day, it prompted me to do the Windows 10 update.  I have a desktop and the installation/upgrade to Windows 10 went flawlessly.  So I followed the same procedures.  After it was finished, it rebooted and I saw the blue Windows logo with the spinning pinwheel.  Afterward, the screen just appears to be black backlight.  On the internet I have found blogs with a similar problem however, they say a black screen with a mouse pointer.  I never see the mouse pointer.  I can hear the windows login sound and if I press keys, I can hear the windows exclamation sound and the hard drive light will flash.  I have allowed it to sit for up to 30 mins. but it will not go beyond that.   It will actually go into sleep mode and then when I press a key the same backlite black screen.  I have pushed every “function F” key but it will not boot into “safe mode” aka Windows Recovery.  Any help will be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance.

Not seeing sd discs since Windows 10 upgrade

Having upgraded my Inspiron N5110 to Windows 10 everything works fine but it won't see sd discs in the drive. I have tried updating drivers but get an error message regarding Intel chipset. Is there a way to get the laptop to see the discs in the SD/MMC - MS/Pro drive?

BSOD's on clean install of Windows 10 on Dell 545s with Nvidia GeForce 210 video card

Just did clean WIndows 10 64 bit install on a Dell Inspiron 545S with 4GB of RAM and Intel Core 2 Duo E7500. Machine originally came with Win7 Home 32 bit Edition.  Its been randomly crashing with a BSOD. Ran Memtest386 overnight last night and it did 9 passes during that time with no errors. Unable to pin down the cause but here are a handful of dump files that I hope will help. Hoping someone can shed some light on could be causing it.

Question about downloading Win 10

0
0

One of my computers is a laptop with win 7 home basic. If  I put the program with win 10 software on it, the result will be win home?

Anther is running Win7 pro System that originally was an xp but I loaded it a file I burned with a recovery disk & MS isn't happy about the version I have left, I could reinstall win 7 so it is current.

I am not sure if it will download unless I install the bios upgrades first. So it might not be an option

My question, is there of downloading to get the install .iso without sacrificing  upgrading that are running win 7

OptiFlex 755 Upgrade to Windows 10-No Dell System Detect or cd/dvd driver

0

I did a new install of Windows 7 last year when Microsoft discontinued support of Windows XP.  This year I used the free upgrade to Windows 10

I have an OPTI Plex 755 which is  probably 5 years old. I've upgraded to Windows 10

Dell System Detect does not execute after the Windows 10 install.  I printed out the Error Summary.  It began:

Activation of C:\Users\Paulette|AppData\Rjoaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Dell\Dell System Detect.appref-ms| resulted in exception.  Following failure messages were detected:

+the deployment identity does not match the subscription.

There is more.  Does anyone have an idea what the problem maybe and how I can regain use of my cd/dvd?

Bypass embedded product key for WIndows 10 upgrade

My boss purchased 4 Dell Inspiron 5559 laptops for us to use for our IT department.  They all came with Windows 10 Home, and of course, the embedded product keys on the hardware.  We need the professional version of Windows to join our domain, and we do not yet have Windows 10 VLK keys.  So we formatted the drives and installed our licensed Windows 7 Pro x64, and activated them.  When we try to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro, the upgrade is detecting the Windows 10 Home embedded key, and not allowing us the option to install Windows 10 Pro.

I have tried the following ways:

Through Windows update (GWX update on the taskbar)

Through GWX on the Microsoft website (manual trigger)

Through the Media Creation tool, opting to install on the same computer

Through the Media Creation tool, creating bootable Windows 10 USB, that I know works, as I used in several other laptops without embdedded product keys.

The media you use to install is capable of installing both Windows 10 Home and Pro, since its just a change of the features through licensing, and no longer separate files.

I need to get these up to WIndows 10 Pro, and we are trying to avoid buying licenses, as there is still three months free upgrade to WIndows 10 from licensed systems.

Does anyone know of a way to bypass the embedded key, remove it completely, or get Windows 10 Pro to be chosen on the upgrade install?

New Motherboard for Windows 10

The industry tells you to upgrade. Better security. Better performance. So I install Windows 10 on my Dell then go to the website for driver upgrades. I find that Dell are not supporting my machine!

Windows 10 has now corrupted my computer. After a brief over-the-phone diagnosis Dell say I need a new motherboard. They will exchange my motherboard for a reconditioned one plus £413!!!!

So after re-flashing the bios, they'll exchange my motherboard with yours and take £413 from each of us!!!!

Dell should have sent an email to all existing customers informing/warning them that they would not be supporting Windows 10. [I get enough promo emails from them trying to sell me stuff.]

Dell needs to take responsibility for its negligence. Just as would  the manufacturer of a dangerous car, or the maker of the tumble dryers that were prone to burst into flames, Dell should do a recall and repair their defective machines.

But they won't. When I put that to their customer service manager today, he wise-cracked me with "Dell didn't tell you to upgrade to Windows 10."

My XPS One 2710 is less than 3 years old. Not supporting it is just lazy. Not warning me that they were not going to supported is negligent. Swapping customers motherboards after just a software reconfiguration while making over £800 per pop, is extortionate.

Dell are not the cheapest. I bought Dell because I thought they were a name I could trust. But as scams go, this one is up there with the best.

I am totally not computer literate.

All I hear are problems associated with the download.  Are there still problems.

Cause if there are, I will not do the download.

I have a Dell Laptop computer.

If there are no problems, then would someone tell me where to start.

Thanks in advance for any and all info.

First time run for new XPS 8900

Greetings. I just setup my new XPS 8900 with Windows 10. Nothing looks familiar to me, compared to my  old WinXP or Vista. Also, there was no software provided, which I assume is normal now. My primary question is, what is being installed by Dell, in the setup process and does anyone have an approx. idea as to the data required for their install? I'm on a limited data plan and can only allow just so much to come in at a time. I did let the computer and Dell do their thing for a while and Network status showed more than 100 MBs had already come in. That's not a lot for someone on unlimited internet but I don't know how much more there is to go. Also, while this is going on, I have found no way to observe or be informed of what is being installed. There may be a bunch of stuff I'll just uninstall later. If anyone can shed some light, I sure would appreciate it. I can't find info. on this anywhere on Dell's site. Thanks, Roy

After windows 10 upgrade, Vostro 3460 wont enter correct sleep mode, proceeds to hibernation

Hi,

As the topic says! My laptop had its HDD die, and replaced with a new, I erased the 32 GB samsung M.2 SSD cache drive, installed Win 8.1 and re-registered windows with key from BIOS. Updated all drivers, BIOS etc.

Now, I've updated to Windows 10. Installed latest Intel Rapid Storage drivers, and acceleration seems to be working again on regular startup. After upgrade, ran windows update for everything, ran through all Power options, even tried 'powercfg /h off' but to no avail.

When I set the laptop to Sleep/Standby mode, it shuts down the screen etc. as it should when entering sleep mode normally, but almost immidiately after turning off screen etc, the HDD (or SSD, i can't tell) is 100 % active for a loong while (1 minute or more) - sometimes with full fan speed- before the laptop is finished entering sleep mode. It's as if it still uses hibernation mode, writing to the hiberfile on the HDD, and not using the SSD.

How can i get the speedy sleep-mode from windows 7/8.1, where it enters and leaves sleep state almost immidiately?

Cheers, Gabriel Hansen

Hi,

I'm currently using Windows 81 and would like to upgrade to Windows 10 sometime soon. And am wondering if there are things I'd need to prepare in advance. Such as would I have to be updating the Dell drivers and so forth?

Thanks.

Problems deploying Windows 10 Enterprise 64bit to Latitude e5550 with SCCM

0

I'm currently troubleshooting errors during deployment of Windows 10 to Latitude e5550 laptops.

We are deploying with SCCM 2012 build 1511.

Drivers are the newest available from Dell.com.

When the deployment reaches the state where Windows are "Getting devices ready" it reaches 100%, and the text switches to "Getting ready".
This screen stays on for 5 - 10 minutes, and then the install are defaulting to where you have to select Network. When this is done the laptop reboots and the the installation fails.

I can see the laptop is never joining the AD domain, but are successfully downloading packages, drivers and software from the distribution points.

Deploying to ther Dell laptop models (e7450, e7250 and so on) and other makes generally, are no problem - ONLY the Latitude e5550.

Have any of you guys seen anything like this or do you have an idea to track Down the problem?
I can't find any errors (besides the laptop not being domain joined and the SCCM complaining about this)
