Windows 10 Update

Hi,

I have a Dell Inspiron 5721 laptop and I can't get the "Get Windows 10" app button to reserve a download. I tried running the Windows 10 app troubleshooter and I keep getting a reply that there is trouble with the application eligibility and to try back in a few hours after rebooting the computer. Can anyone give me guidance?

After upgrading to Windows 10 my SD card reader does not work.

Anyone else have this experience? Any solutions for this and I would be very grateful.

I tried to update all the drivers for Win 10 but do not know which one is for the SD Card reader.

Thanks,

What Display Driver works properly with Windows 10 on the Alienware 18 780m SLI notebook?

I am re-posting this to the "Support Forum" as I did not realize the Alienware forum was not for "Support":

After seeing the following on the Product Support page for a Alienware 18 (Mid 2013) notebook I upgraded to Windows 10 ...

"Windows 10 upgrade available

Dell has tested this product to confirm that it can upgrade to Windows 10."

... but neither the Windows 10 x64 display driver listed on the laptop's Dell Product Support page nor the latest Nvidia Official drivers for 780m on Windows 10 x64 are working properly.

The display adapters are showing in Device Manager with an exclamation mark and the information says "the device is not working properly".

I've rebooted after every install and chosen "Perform Clean Installation" when available for each time I tried a different driver.

The Nvidia Control Panel does not load at startup and the resolution is defaulted to 1024 by 768.

So if this laptop has been confirmed with testing to work with Windows 10 I would like to know which Display Driver they used during that testing.

The motherboard has the latest BIOS installed that is available from the Product Support page.

fully activated Windows 7 laptop wont activate on Windows 10 upgrade. Inspiron 13 (1370, Late 2009) error code 0xC004C003

Good Evening,

I have been trying to upgrade to Windows 10 from windows 7 I was aware that dell uses a Injected Product code/activation from when I did a clean install a few months back when upgrading hardware so did some checking before processing the upgrade as I thought this may of been an issue, Luckily most info stated that as long as I upgraded it would provide me with a relevant updated product key for Windows 10 so I upgraded using the media creation tool with the upgrade option my Win 7 install was fully activated and updated but when doing the standard run though I found that Windows 10 had not activated and I was unable to change personal settings,

The given Error code 0xC004C003 Error description : The activation server determined the specified product key has been blocked. When checking online and with Microsoft they stated that it was an issue there end due to the high numbers upgrading wait 24-48 hours and it'll activate on its own, so I waited nothing happened so spoke to them again same response so for about a week I waited still no activation.

I then reverted to Windows 7 to check activation and all was activated and fine. I then re-upgraded to win 10 this time using the windows update option just in case this helped Still not activated, so I have spoke to Microsoft again and now they are saying that its dell's fault and speak to yourselves (see attached Image) as its your product code that is blocked.

Is there any thing that you can advise or help me with?

Inspiron 15R - N5110 success with fresh install of Windows 10 Home 64bit

I saw several threads where Win10 might not or isn't working so I started this one to indicate it can work.

Last night I successfully installed Windows 10 home edition 64 bit on my Inspiron 15R N5110 core i5 / 8GB.

A 250GB Samsung 840 EVO  SSD was installed. this was a pain and involved dismantling the laptop and removing and re-installing the motherboard. It would have been nice if it was as easy as my inspiron 17R, but I digress...

Install was "fresh" from a DVD. The standalone installer ran without issues.

I read that a BIOS update was required, but did know this or do this before hand because the Win7 HDD was removed by the time I read that it was required.

I tried it any way, and after the second reboot/update the laptop screen was black. I read this was an issue on Microsoft's website, but found a suggestion to plug in an external VGA monitor, and that worked. I then updated the BIOS to v11 and the laptop display started to work again after that.

I installed the most recent Quickset application for this model and this restored the function keys so that screen brightness and volume could be controlled via the function keys.

I did not update any other drivers, and have yet to do extensive testing, but so far it seems to be working. Wifi works, touchpad works, keyboard works, sound works, the screen works.

Now it is time to turn off most of the win10 junk ...

Windows 10 freeze in sleep mode, Dell Inspiron 3542

Hi,

I recently updated to windows 10 (July 29th)

Usually when i close the lid, or let the laptop for about 20 minutes it's supposed to go to sleep mode.

After the update, my Dell laptop goes to sleep mode as usual but the fan of the computer stays warm and if i put my ear next to it, i can hear the fan somewhat running. When I open the lid or click on the power button NOTHING HAPPENS, the screen stays black, the fan still going, the laptop loosing battery.

To get out of it, I have to hold down the power button each time for a hard reset so it shuts down... What's the point of sleep mode at this stage, I might as well shut down my computer every time i'm not using it.

I ran as admin in cmd powercfg /energy and the report gave me this :

I reinstalled the Bluetooth driver from Dell twice, but it doesn't go away..

And I don't know how to fix the PCI part because i believe it's related to the BIOS. I have version A08 of the BIOS.

My software and all drivers and bios are updated 100% to their latest versions.

Anyone with a solution ?

Windows 10 Drivers

Hello, I was told I can't download Windows 10 yet because Dell hasn't came out with the necessary drivers yet to be able to download it. I'm curious when will the Windows 10 drivers be available. I would like to have Windows 10 on my Windows 7 laptop as soon as possible. Please let me know what date it will be available to download. Thanks!

Insprion 7352 Win 10 - Wifi disabled (and can't enable)

We just purchased an Inspiron 7352 with Windows 10 pre-installed. We've seen a problem with the WiFi a couple times.

The computer is connected to another WiFi network away from home, and everything's fine. Close the computer lid, come home, and open it up, and it won't connect to the WiFi at home.

The network adapter properties show that the WiFi adapter is disabled. So, right-click and enable it. It says it's enabling the adapter... and then the icon still says it's disabled, and it still won't connect to anything.

Rebooting the computer solves the problem.

It's acting kind of like a computer with a physical wifi on/off switch turned off. But there's not a switch on this computer. (Fn-PrtScr toggles Airplane Mode on & off, but that doesn't seem to affect this problem.)

Any advice? It would be nice to avoid the problem in the first place; failing that, it would be good to be able to enable the adapter without rebooting the computer.

Upgrade to Windows 10 - DDP problem in E6530

Hi

I have upgraded my windows 8.1 to windows 10 in my Dell Latitude E6530.
My finger print options were not available to set them in Dell security console.

So I tried to install the latest version of DDP from dell website.

Once I start to install STInstaller-1.6.1.1055 I get the error as  below:

Then I  proceed to install " MasterInstaller-8.6.1.1197", I get the bellow error.

I check the dell website and I had the latest Dell Control Vault driver available.

Does anyone else faced this problem? Please advice me how to solve this problem. I want my finger print keep going.

Thank You,

Venue 11 Pro 5130 (32bit) - Camera not detected in Windows 10

(posted also here but probably should be in Win 10 forum instead)

After upgrading the Venue 11 Pro 5130 (32bit) to Windows 10 from 8.1, the cameras are not found at all. The camera app just reports an error it can't find a camera and that's it. Other apps that use the camera also do the same.

Device Manager however lists the device though as "intel imaging signal processor 2400" and no obvious issues there. Driver version 603.9600.1945.51302.

I note the Venue 11 is listed as tested in Windows 10.

Cameras were working before the upgrade (though note the issues I and many others have had out of the box with the 5130 and the Microsoft Camera app, but that was only the rear camera, worked with video option or panorama, never a problem with other apps, and only occurred after letting the device sleep and go into Connected Standby. Given I have disabled CS anyway due to the still not fixed issue with BIOS A10 and later that prevent it waking from CS then that problem has gone away).

I have a Dell XPS M1530 that is a few years old and I was thinking about upgrading from the windows 7 I have on it, to Windows 10.  It shipped with Vista.. to give you an idea of the age.  Has anyone tried Windows 10 on this model?  I have found articles indicating Windows 8.1 worked on it, but nothing for Windows 10 yet.

"The update installer operation is unsuccessful" - Windows 10 64bit on Inspiron 15 (5547, Early 2014)

Hi

I recently installed Windows 10 Enterprise Eval build 10240 (64bit) on my Inspiron 15 (5547, Early 2014) but when I try to install drivers all drivers give me this error: "The update installer operation is unsuccessful".

Without drivers laptop is useless and I am in so much trouble.

So please fix your drivers for Inspiron 15 (5547) and check them on same laptop with same version of windows before uploading on your database.

Thanks

Touchpad problem Windows 10

I'm using Inspiron i3 5520. I installed Windows 10 recently and the touchpad delay after typing from the keyboard is bothering me. I used the same driver for Windows 8.1 and everything worked fine. The driver version is 11.3.16.1 (ELAN). I also set the 'no delay' option in the Windows mouse settings but nothing seems to help. Kindly suggest any updated driver or other solution otherwise. Thanks.

1510 Wireless Half-Mini Card Causes Bad Pool Header error in Windows 10

I've identified the DELL 1510 Wireless Half-Mini Card as the cause of the Bad Pool Header error in Windows 10 on my laptop, a Latitude E5520.  I've installed the latest driver available on the DELL support site for that machine.  That did not resolve the issue.  With the card disabled, I get no errors.  With  the card enabled, I've not manged to go 15 minutes, and frequently don't make it through the boot without getting the error.

Dell 15 5558 clickpad drivers ?

I've recentrly acquired a DELL 15 5558 laptop with Ubuntu preinstalled. The touchpad worked fine, multi-gestures worked aswell. I've decided to install Windows 10 (Dell support page says it's supported). The problem is that Windows won't recognize my clickpad as a clickpad. Instead it shows as PS/2  compatible mouse. On DELL's support page for my specific model, the only drivers for mouse are for Logitech Unified dongle. I've searched for windows updates, tried installing Synaptics drivers, but no luck... I've tried installing Windows 8.1, hoping it will auto-detect my clickpad but unfortunately it came to the same result... PS/2 mouse. Can anyone help me on this matter ?

I was hoping for a DELL app, to easily enable/disable the touchpad if needed (if attaching external mouse, because there are no keyboard shortcuts for it) but unfortunately the DELL driver and software support is the poorest I've ever seen... I chose DELL hoping for quality laptopts but it seems I was wrong...
